Home Office Mini-Redo

As I've mentioned before, we purchased our new home back in April.  With things still on a tight budget, decorating costs are slim pickins!    Add to it, our house is huge - we got it for a steal in this blighted Vegas market, much more than we need ~ so decorating has been a bit of a chore.

Upstairs are all our bedrooms and a loft area.  We've made this into my home office/kids computer area.  It was in need of a massive redo and I like it so far....  Here's a pic of the loft before:

HO-HUM - blah!  Boring!!  I've always been inspired by this photo from BHG.  I loved how they pulled in items from the home to use with the home office.

So I moved things around a bit, pulled an unused piece of furniture from one of the younglings rooms and this is what I've got.

TA-DA!!!

Much better I think.  Will do for now.  A few details  here and there...

This is the wall above my computer.  I copied the Create sign from a Ballard's magazine pic.  I found those frame for $2 at a garage sale in a shiny brass - spray painted them flat black. 

My Dollar Tree frame that I hot-glued burlap and a pretty fork on.

My own version of "Family Rules."  I have wanted to copy Tatertots and Jello's Family Rules list for-evah and I finally did.   My youngling helped come up with some of the rules which I LOOOVE!

I even got all the computer cords tucked neatly away!!!

So a bit of progress was made - now for the other side of the loft!!!  What to do?!?  Idears anyone?
